What happens when you use AZD (Access Azure Drive)?"

Converts Access into a full-fledged client/server!
Achieve cloud (Azure) operation!

What is AZD (Access Azure Drive)?
AZD (Access Azure Drive) is a tool for upsizing Access to Azure and turning it into a C/S system.
It adds the Upsizing Wizard to the Ribbon.
The wizard will perform the size increase.
This feature was standard until Access 2010. However, it was incomplete and rarely converted.
Inforce had been conducting research at Microsoft headquarters in the U.S., but unfortunately the project was halted.
However, they continued their research and finally succeeded in developing a highly accurate function 20 years after its establishment.
Access to be the most powerful development tool!
With AZD, you will be able to use the best parts of client/server, web, and smartphone systems, and all of Access' weaknesses will be overcome, making Access the strongest development tool available.
  • (1) A full-fledged client/server system is created! No development vendor needed
  • (2) The Cloud is available.
  • (3) Smartphone and web systems that can be linked to Access can add functionality using no-code/low-code development software Power Apps, etc. (separate development is required)
  • (4) Access data can be managed with Azure security and compliance
  • (5) Advanced data analysis can be performed
*AZD must be used with Access alone. If you have links to other files, etc., you will not be able to use AZD. Please be sure to combine them into one table before upsizing.

In recent years, there has been a trend toward Web-based systems for everything. However, is a browser-based Web system necessarily superior?

Certainly, Web systems have the advantage that they can be used by multiple people from anywhere. However, for large amounts of data entry and form output, a traditional client/server system would be much more convenient.

Thus, web systems, client/server systems, and smartphone systems each have their own advantages and disadvantages, and should be used according to their respective purposes.

Upsizing Access with AZD will allow it to be converted to a client/server system, and cooperate with a web system or smartphone system from the C/S.

Although Access has excellent development efficiency, it was not originally designed to do that.

Therefore, a system created in Access can be improved into a full-fledged system that can be used for a variety of purposes. That's why you should use AZD.

The best system can be completed if you can use PC, web, and smartphone for different functions!
AZD is the tool that makes this possible!
Get the advantages and use it according to your purpose!
Advantages Disadvantages
Web system
  • Login anywhere and use it
  • Easy to maintain
  • Easy to use with multiple users
  • Speed is greatly affected by browser performance and the environment in which it is used
  • Inconvenient for large volume data input processing
  • Difficult to output reports
  • Requires security management because the system is accessible from all over the world via the Internet.
Smartphone system
  • Always portable
  • Quick startup
  • Simple inventory checks, daily report entry, etc. can be done quickly
  • Can also be used as a barcode (QR code) reader
  • Small screen is not suitable for complex business processing, and is greatly affected by the usage environment.
  • Requires battery charging
Client/Server system
  • Relatively stable operating speed
  • Easy to process large amounts of data input
  • Convenient output of reports
  • Can be used in a secure environment
  • Difficult to maintain
  • Management burden increases with the number of users
